Robotic "Student" Helps Children with Handwriting

Researchers from Switzerland have created a robot to help children improve their handwriting.  It really looks motivating and fun.  The goal is for the child to act as the teacher to help the robot improve it's handwriting but the end result is that the child improves his/her own handwriting as well.  I have seen other ideas with robots and children but what I love about this robot is the children are helping the robot.    Read the article here http://www.gizmag.com/cowriter-kids-teach-robots-learn-write-together/36425/ or watch the video below:

Handwriting Standards

Here is an interesting and informative website for any therapists who work on handwriting skills. Handwriting without Tears has created a website on handwriting standards. It includes a document with handwriting standards by grade level. In addition, you can look up standards by your state as well. There is also some (not much) research quoted to support teaching handwriting skills. The website is entitled HandwritingStandards.
