Intriguing...really, 8 minutes? Cautious me will be stopping the microwave every 30 seconds. It sounds like an excellent activity for any season; who says we can't use cinnamon for Valentine's Day fun?
It really does work fine in the microwave. I have done it repeatedly (well I guess it works fine in the microwaves I use). You could use old muffin tins and melt the crayons in the oven as an alternative if you didn't want to use the microwave.
I agree could be adapted for any holiday. I was trying to think of a way to make homemade triangle crayons or the stone crayons (that are available commercially) to assist with grasp. Any ideas anyone?
